Dave Phillippy, PresidentMinistry Leadership: Dave currently serves as The Strategic Pastor for The Adventure Church in Draper, UT. Dave is responsible for driving their overall short and long term strategies. Dave's calling to be a Pastor began in January of 2010.
Dave also has served as a volunteer consultant for the International Network of Children’s Ministries for 5 years in several areas of ongoing ministry leadership and planning. Dave led the INCM board and staff in developing their first strategic plan.
Dave served as an Elder and in direct ministry leadership at Grace Community Church in Sandy, Utah. In addition to his elder responsibilities Dave and his wife, Joy, also served as the Directors of Children’s ministries.
Dave serves as the President of "Keep the Dream Alive" which focuses on giving hope in Christ to kids that are struggling.
Business Leadership: Dave started his career with Hershey Foods Corporation and during his 16 year tenure there completed a Bachelor program at Eastern College in Organizational Management.
Dave worked his first 8 years at
Hershey Corporation in Information Systems as the System’s
Administrator for Hershey’s Chocolate World. He then transferred
into Purchasing and Production Planning for Hershey’s Gift
Catalog and became a key manager involved with all aspects of
the business with a heavy emphasis in strategic planning. Dave
gained additional business training in programs such as Creative
Problem Solving, Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,
Process Management, and Targeted Selection.
After 16 successful years with Hershey, including 5 years of
higher-level management, under his strategic planning approach
his department saw 30% or greater growth.
Dave left
his management position at Hershey in 2002 and became a business
partner with Jaxxi Products and Design in Draper, Utah. As a
business co-owner for a small developing company Dave was
responsible for all aspects of the management and strategic
planning. During his 5 years in management with Jaxxi the
company’s annual revenue grew from $1.2 MM to $8 MM and under
Dave’s leadership he created a highly effective business
infrastructure.
Family:
Dave’s wife, Joy, is a registered nurse and works in the
emergency room nurse at South Jordan Hospital. Dave is a 2nd
Lieutenant as a
Senior Member for Civil Air Patrol in Draper which is an
auxiliary to the United States Air force. Dave and Joy have
two children and their family enjoys skiing, hiking, camping and
other outdoor activities.
